چکیده
Anaerobic digestion of bioplastics' wastes may represent a valuable disposal strategy for these important substitutes plastics, in order to reduce their leakage into the environment and produce bioenergy form biomethane, contributing positively sustainability entire life chain. Only lab-scale data about anaerobic degradability biomethane production have been produced until now, using approaches far from full-scale conditions. This paper presents novel approach studying potential bioplastics because pioneering methodology was adopted, allowing acquisition that can be useful further attest environmental economic recovering bioplastics’ wastes. A simple replicable experimental proposed bioplastic during digestion, which consisted placing digester within perforated steel boxes. Three different items (one starch-based two polylactic-acid based) were co-digested with organic real plant process parameters (thermophilic temperature 30 days hydraulic retention time followed by mesophilic maturation). The experiments replicated at laboratory-scale evaluate recovery degradation. Laboratory-scale did not differ coming experiment, i.e., degradation affected reactor volume. Bioplastics showed an average 27 ± 5% on weight basis mechanism types studied found through Fourier Transform-InfraRed spectroscopy (FTIR) analysis. Starch-based quick consumption starch component, slow polyester fraction. Polylactic acid degraded without chemical changes composition. In both experiments, key parameter affecting degradation, thermophilic temperatures needed obtain significant Biomethane determination (135 23 NLCH4 kg Volatile Solids−1 as end digestion) proved sustainable approach, reducing producing (biogas), respecting Circular Economy principles. valorisation treatment

Kinetics of inactivation of indicator pathogens during thermophilic anaerobic digestion.
Thermophilic anaerobic sludge digestion is a promising process to divert waste to beneficial use, but an important question is the required temperature and holding time to achieve a given degree of pathogen inactivation. In this study, the kinetics of inactivation of Ascaris suum and vaccine strain poliovirus type 1 (PVS-1), selected as indicators for helminth ova and enteric viruses respective...

4 ABSTRACT: Anaerobic digestion (AD) of the organic fraction of municipal solid waste (OFMSW) 5 is promoted as an energy source and more recently as a GHG mitigation measure. In this context, AD 6 systems operating at thermophilic temperatures (55-60C) – compared to mesophilic temperatures 7 (35-40C) – have the unique feature of producing hygienic soil conditioners with greater process 8 effici...
متن کاملAnaerobic Co-digestion of Sewage Sludge with Cheese Whey under Thermophilic and Mesophilic Conditions
Anaerobic digestion of sewage sludge (SS) and co-digestion with cheese whey (CW) was evaluated in batch conditions under mesophilic and thermophilic regimens. Results indicated that the co-digestion can be successfully attained despite some inhibitory stages that may be initially present due to the accumulation of volatile fatty acids. Degradation of the mixture SS-CW followed a similar pattern...

Anaerobic digestion of whole stillage from a dry-grind corn-based ethanol plant was evaluated by batch and continuous-flow digesters under thermophilic and mesophilic conditions. At whole corn stillage concentrations of 6348 to 50,786 mg total chemical oxygen demand (TCOD)/L, at standard temperature (0 °C) and pressure (1 atm), preliminary biochemical methane potential assays produced 88±8 L (4...
